人一生中要被感動到起雞皮疙瘩的機會有多少？到目前為止記憶所及只有兩次，除了悲慘世界，就是現場觀賞「吉屋出租」（Rent）。電影版即將在秋天上映，幾個喜歡這劇的朋友知道都欣喜若狂，奔相走告。但是對於完全沒接觸的人來說，可能根本毫無頭緒「吉屋出租」到底是什麼碗糕吧？基於對於此戲的喜愛，能夠推薦給沒有接觸過的人，從這個禮拜開始固定在禮拜天刊一篇關於吉屋出租的粗淺介紹，希望能讓更多人認識這齣戲，即使暫時還無緣看現場，在不久的將來電影上檔時，也能深入體會劇情與欣賞Jonathan Larson留下的搖滾音樂創作。
本人非專業藝術工作者，只是戲迷，文中如有闕漏錯誤，還請先進不吝指教。
「吉屋出租」（Rent）九六年四月十六號正式在Nederlander Theatre上檔後，就廣受好評，並且橫掃了當年度的東尼獎，囊括了四項包括最佳劇本和最佳音樂劇的大獎，同時也獲得普立玆戲劇獎，成為外百老匯劇打進百老匯的成功典範。只是這些殊榮對於Jonathan Larson是看不到了。賦予本劇靈魂的Jonathan Larson，將自己的生活經驗，上天賦予的音樂才華，灌注進吉屋出租後，卻在本劇第一次預演的前一晚因為主動脈瘤永遠離開世界，離開「吉屋出租」。
故事根據普契尼的歌劇「波希米亞人」（La Bohème）改編，只是背景移到紐約東村（East Villege），紀錄片工作者Mark Cohen是劇裡的說書人，貫穿全場，同時也是所有人中唯一一個非愛滋帶原者（HIV+）。主體是失意的搖滾歌手Roger Davis 和SM俱樂部的舞者Mimi Marquez 之間的愛情／關係，同時帶出其他男男女女之間，不為社會認同但其實和人人都一樣的生活困境。
由流行好一陣子的BoBo族（bourgeois bohemian）這個名詞，從「旅行」到「流浪」一詞的興起，可以看出一般人對於波希米亞的生活方式還是有所嚮往，這或許是對於泰勒化的Daily Routine的一種反動，也或是每個人靈魂中早已被隱藏的那部分。要對「吉屋出租」（Rent）有更深入的了解，就要先從普契尼的「波希米亞人」（La Bohème）起頭。

4年前在NY看了之後，就深深著迷...看到有人也一樣深受感動讓我覺得很幸福啊~~
台北的演出..也去看了，卻還是有種想要天天去看的衝動，這真的是齣不容錯過的表演啊!!

Yes.I agree your opinion. I know a couple of gays whose love is very very difficult. So I can understand when Angel died Collins was certainly sad.
I feel the main spirit of this musical is vitality and original.Although there are many taboo subjects on it. I still like it.

I would choose "I'll cover you", especially when Angel died. The Collins I watched in London even drop his tears. After all, love like they have is really difficult .

I'm very happy to show my favorite in this musical.
In fact all of the music I like very much. Many songs let my touching. If I must pick up one. Maybe I'll say "Light my candle". The scene that is the first time Roger and Mimi meet each other in Roger's home. They seem like each other. I feel it is very romantic especially when Mini demand Roger to light her candle. Hi, lan. Rent is my favorite musical so far. I've watched it twice in London and NY and still find it so touching. There's a saying about the coming date of Rent movie is gonna be on next year. Dunno if it's true. Anyways, come here and share ur love of RENT with me!! no day but Today!! ^^

This show is my first time to go watching musical in NYC.
I enjoy the music and the story very much.
I'm very surprise that there are someone in this world like it so much the same me.
I watched many broadway show like "The lion king" But I'm still fascinated this show.
Every time I'm listening the song I'll have different feeling.
Happy to talk it with you.
I look forward to the movie. I remember about 11 23 in NYC and 11 25 in Taiwan. I will see it. ^^

對於歌劇部分
真的不知道有這部"吉屋出租"，因為您的介紹我又獲得一點點資訊，比較常看的大多是，"歌劇魅影"、"鐘樓怪人"、"cats"這些，沒有想到這部也很有名氣，那我想請教站主說，"吉屋出租"跟上面那幾部比較，，你還是會比較喜歡吉屋出租嗎?
